Most companies operate in adaptive environments. What's an #adaptive environment? By engaging your external market with internal people, process, and #technology you end up changing both -- simply through interacting. You then need to keep experimenting to respond to the #change you contributed to.
Said differently: when you add cream and sugar to your coffee, you can't simply remove it and try a new experiment. You need to either drink your coffee, or add something new to make it taste better.
